Tutkimusyhtiö NPD Groupin mukaan Xbox 360 oli huhtikuun myydyin konsoli Yhdysvalloissa. Ensimmäinen sija syntyi noin 295 000 konsolin myynnillä, jolloin PlayStation 2:n 205 000 yksikön myynti ei riittänyt kovinkaan tiukkaan kisailuun. Lisäksi lähes puolet myydyimmistä peleistä oli Xbox 360:n nimikkeitä.
Microsoft ilmoitti E3-messujen päätyttyä, että Xbox 360:n Live-palvelusta on ladattu laitteen elinkaaren aikana nyt 24 miljoonaa tiedostoa. Palvelun käyttöä vauhditti luonnollisesti E3-messujen aikana tehty "E3: Bringing it home" -kamppanja, mikä toi kotisohvien ulottuville pelitrailereita ja demoja 74 kappaletta muutaman päivän aikana. Messujen aikana pelkästään seitsemässä päivässä suoritettiin yli viisi miljoonaa latausta mikä tarkoittaa 600 teratavua siirrettyä dataa. Kaikkiaan latauspalvelua käytti 1,5 miljoonaa pelaajaa.

Iso-Britannian jälleenmyyjät ovat kertoneet GamesIndustry.biz:lle, että Microsoft haluaa Xbox 360:n ja sen HD-DVD –lisälaitteen hinnoiteltavan halvemmaksi kuin mitä PlayStation 3 maksaa yksinään.

Sonyn isoherra Phil Harrison puolestaan kommentoi Mooren lausuntoa Gamepron haastattelussa: "Minusta Peter Moore on aivan oikeassa. Uskon, että ihmiset tulevat ostamaan Nintendon kakkoskoneeksi heti PS3:n jälkeen."
